Loughborough University London Campus

Published: January 19, 2017

Founded on Loughborough’s award-winning reputation for research dynamism and creativity, Loughborough University London is an inspiring postgraduate campus located on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Boasting an array of facilities following the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, TeamMate are proud to have supplied Loughborough University London with state of the art Audio Visual Furniture Solutions to go with the innovative teaching methods adopted by this campus.

Through the summer of 2016 TeamMate supplied several Trainer Pro teaching lecterns for Loughborough London’s smaller seminar rooms, Podium Dual lecterns for the ‘Harvard Style’ medium lecture theatres and a VariHite Podium for the main large lecture theatre. TeamMate teaching lecterns were chosen due to the contemporary look and feel of the stainless-steel chassis, which reflected the modern architecture of the campus. In addition, the standard finish of White Rigato for the worktops was again used throughout the project to keep uniformity with the main Loughborough campus in Leicestershire.
Aaron Turlington-Smith, Teaching Support Manager at Loughborough University commented:

“Having used TeamMate for many years, we knew the quality and contemporary look and feel will suit the new Loughborough London Campus. TeamMate were very proactive and helpful when sending through design concepts, the team more than matched our requirements for the pedagogy in a variety of areas”.

WorksZone Collaboration Tables were also used in various locations around the campus, enabling students to engage and work individually or in a group. The WorksZone Tables housed Extron cable retractor systems within the centralised connectivity module, to enable content to be displayed from multiple devises onto the mounted screen at the end of the WorksZone. The ergonomic design of the tables ensures students have plenty of space and equal access to the audio-visual technology in the centre without the need for trailing cables.
